On the authority of Anas bin Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, who said: I entered, or perhaps I entered, upon the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and al-Hasan and al-Husayn were turning over on his stomach. He said: And he said: My two fragrant flowers from this nation.

Chapter 28: al-Hasan and al-Husayn, peace be upon them, rode on the back of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, during the prayer.

On the authority of Abu Hurayrah, may Allah be pleased with him, who said: We used to pray the ‘Isha’ prayer with the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and when he prostrated, al-Hasan and al-Husayn would jump on his back. When he raised his head, he would take them by the hand from behind him, taking them gently and placing them on the ground. When he returned, they would return until he finished his prayer, and he would seat them on his thighs.

On the authority of Zurr ibn Jaish, may God be pleased with him, who said: One day the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, was praying with the people when al-Hasan and al-Husayn, peace be upon them, came, and they were young boys. They began to jump on his back when he prostrated, so the people came to them and tried to push them away from that. He said: Leave them alone, may my father and mother be sacrificed for you.

An-Nasa'i, Al-Sunan Al-Kubra, 5: 50, Hadith: 8170

On the authority of Abdullah bin Masoud, may God be pleased with them both, he said: The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, was praying, and when he prostrated, Al-Hassan and Al-Hussein would jump on his back. When they wanted to stop them, he would signal to them to leave them. When he had prayed, he would place them on his lap.
